May 29:
Self-guided + Beyonce Concert!

BEFORE your amazing night with Beyonce, enjoy the city a bit!

Today is a self guided day in London. We recommend visiting the British Museum and the Globe Theater today as they are close in distance to each other.

British Museum

The British Museum is a public museum dedicated to human history, art and culture located in the Bloomsbury area of London. Its permanent collection of eight million works is among the largest and most comprehensive in existence. It documents the story of human culture from its beginnings to the present.

Note: A ticket is required to go inside the British Museum. This has not been included in the package.

Globe Theater

The Globe Theatre in London is a theatre famous for its association with England's best-known playwright, William Shakespeare.

Shakespeare's Globe is a reconstruction of the Globe Theatre. You can visit it and walk around or you could visit one of their famous plays. Their summer schedule will be announced later this year.

Musical Marylebone Walking Tour

ONLY AVAILABLE MAY 28TH

Tour meets at Bond Street Tube (Marylebone Lane Exit)

For once the showbiz and performing arts types have been elbowed off centre stage by the nurses, the doctors and the sportsmen. This tour aims to put the musicians back where they belong.

Marylebone is home to both BBC – from Teddy Bear’s Picnic to Relax by Frankie Goes to Hollywood we’ll delve into Auntie Beeb’s often bothersome relationship with music.

The word-famous Proms music festival has its genesis in not one but TWO Marylebone concert halls.

Its streets have been home to such pillars of the English classical music establishment as Sir Henry Wood and Constant Lambert – as well as music hall (vaudeville) venues at the other end of the musical class system.

One of London’s most scandalous pleasure gardens is buried beneath its polite, geometric elegance – where we’ll find the music of Henry Purcell and more.

Paul McCartney composed Yesterday in Marylebone.

So we’ll ask the medicos to move aside for an hour or so – although in Hector Berlioz who lived in the area we have a representative of both the medical AND musical communities.

The Making of Harry Potter and Oxford Tour

As part of this magical day out from London, you will visit the world famous University city of Oxford, enjoy a 60 minute walking tour in the company of a professional guide. Founded in 1167, Oxford is England's oldest university.

You will end your visit to Oxford with some free time, a chance for you to explore further at your own leisure before continuing onto the next stop of your tour, the Warner Bros Studio Tour London: The Making of Harry Potter & Oxford.

Small-Group Tour: Historical Pub Walking Tour of London

Your afternoon pub tour begins at St. Paul's, where you will meet your guide and set off for the first stop of your tour. As you walk, check out city attractions like St. Paul's Cathedral and the bustling Fleet Street. Pass the site of a Shakespearean playhouse, then pop into the art nouveau Blackfriars for a drink. Grab a pint (own expense) and enjoy colorful stories from this neighborhood's banking community.

Next, head down Fleet Street, flush with pubs and gin palaces to service the journalists and literary greats of the day. Stop at a proper London boozer for a civilized drinking experience. Buy yourself a delicious local ale (or two), admire the authentic medieval decor, and enjoy the buzz as regulars and newcomers fill up the wooden tables surrounding the horseshoe bar.

Continue along Fleet Street, the former stomping grounds of Charles Dickens, who once resided in Furnival’s Inn (now Holborn Bars). Visit a 17th-century pub that was a favorite of Dickens and fellow writers Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and Alfred Lord Tennyson. Sip on a delicious beer and cider (not included) and soak up the literary history of the place.

Your tour ends at the edge of Covent Garden with plenty of time (and insider information) to continue the fun at another local pub.

F.A.Q.

WHAT TIME SHOULD I ARRIVE IN London?

We do suggest arriving in London around 11a or 12pm.

WHAT TIME IS THE CHECK IN TO THE HOTEL?

Check in at your hotel will not be until 1pm at the earliest.

  • If you arrive early, or your room is not yet ready for you to check in when you arrive, you may be able to leave your bags with the front desk and they will keep them securely held behind the desk while you go out and eat or explore the city until your room is ready.

Where’s the hotel?

You’ll find Good Hotel London by the Western Gateway of the Royal Victoria Dock.
The O2 Arena, ExCeL Exhibition Centre, City Airport and Canary Wharf Business District are all nearby. And they are less than five minutes walk from the Royal Victoria station on the DLR light rail, Elizabeth line at Custome House station is 5 mins away, Jubilee Line at Canning Town is 12 mins away on foot, City Airport is 9 mins away by taxi and a 7-min Cable Car ride will bring you to North Greenwich.

If you need to park, you can download the car park map here which shows you the location of the car parks on campus. You can also check the parking information on ExCel's website, as they are located nearby.

DO I HAVE TO WEAR MY MASK THE WHOLE TIME?

At this time, No.

IS BREAKFAST INCLUDED?

Yes!

The serving times vary by hotel (they will tell you at check-in), but usually breakfast is served starting at 6:30am.

Can I pay by Zelle?

Yes!

We started taking Zelle payments last month and we found this to be a fast and FREE way to pay!
For those who don’t know what Zelle is… it is very much like a wire transfer (but it is not a wire transfer).

Everyone’s bank is different, though, so you may want to call/go in to your local bank and ask to have the maximum amount available to transfer every day.

Example: Some banks only allow $500/day transfer. Other banks will allow $1200/day.

Always be careful when making payments through Zelle to people that you do not know. There is no protection guarantee provided and you cannot reverse the fee.

The Pros for using Zelle:

  • It is FREE (no processing fees)!

  • It is instantaneous (funds will go directly to Zone Travel- so this is the absolute fastest way to make a payment)

The Cons for using Zelle:

  • Every bank is different when it comes to maximum amount available to be transferred every day. So, this may mean that you need to make multiple payments to Zone Travel, multiple days in a row.

  • It does require an app download onto your phone, and you need to set up your account with your bank information.

Can I pay by check?

Yes!

If you would like to avoid the 4%processing fees, you may pay by check.
It is very important that you pay in advance of the deadlines and allow ample time for delivery.

You can make checks payable to “Zone Travel”

Please mail your checks (allowing 3-5 business days for delivery - PRIOR to deadline) to:
Zone Travel
PO Box 12052
Columbus, OH 43212

Payments received after the deadline could result in cancelation of your reservation or increased fees.
