You will not be disappointed in this newly renovated and upgraded 2-bedroom, 3-bathroom, oceanfront condo, located on the best reef in Bonaire. Being on the 2nd floor offers many benefits such as the spectacular view you just don't get on 1st floor rooms. The trade-winds are more prevalent the higher up you go as well.

Being so close to the Sea it is very easy to go for a dive or snorkel at any time, whether it's early morning, noon, or night, and you're always going to find something different on Bari reef. We have seen more marine diversity here than all the other islands we have traveled to combined. Sand Dollar is also only one of 8 properties on the island with its own pier AND it’s also one of only 4 properties with living room AC.

You'll find all new ceramic tile flooring throughout. New in May 2017 we have enclosed the existing screened porch off the living room to add an additional 160 sq ft of living space to the first floor. We are the only condo that has this feature available for rent. Open the front door and enjoy the cooling constant trade winds through the apartment.

A brand, new kitchen with corian countertops includes all new appliances with oven, cooktop, dishwasher, American style refrigerator, microwave, and coffee maker. You'll find service for 12, and all of the kitchen gadgets, pots & pans, and accessories you could need if you like to cook including an indoor electric grill.

You'll also find a laptop desk in the work area. Bring your laptop or tablet to keep in touch with family & friends back home, check in with work, or review your dive photos. The office area offers a fully stocked desk with office supplies. You will also find dive guides, maps, puzzles, games and more.

Our unit contains its own dedicated fiber optic internet (best available on the island), private router, providing reliable internet, WiFi, and cable. We are one of only 7 in the complex with this hi-end cable and internet. This particular unit is the only rental with the highest speed internet that is available on Bonaire. You will have no trouble doing video chats, streaming movies or uploading photos to social media.

Brand new air conditioners are in the master bedroom AND in the living area. The living area air conditioner is available for a small daily fee ($10/day) to offset the high electricity costs or open the fully screened doors & windows to let the trade winds blow through. There are also newly installed ceiling fans in each room to ensure ample movement of air.

Two spacious bathrooms have been completely remodeled with walk-in showers, with adjustable one-handle showerheads and rainfall shower. Both bathrooms have brand new sinks and toilets. Both upstairs bathrooms are en suite with newly installed sliding barn doors to maximize floor space in the bedrooms. The main floor bath has a toilet and sink and has also been completely refurbished. Lots of storage, shelving, and towel holders ensure that you will be as comfortable as possible.

Both bedrooms are fully air-conditioned, and you'll find very comfortable mattresses to enjoy a good night's sleep. The master bedroom has a king-size bed with 3" gel memory foam topper. Bedroom #2 has two brand new top of the line USA memory foam beds that are twin extra long, these can be pushed together and add a King size memory foam topper for a 2nd master suite with king-size bed. A fold-away XL twin with memory foam bed and topper is available in the 2nd bedroom as well providing sleeping arrangements for 3.

If you like to relax and watch TV, you'll find a Smart TV in the Living room. You'll find wifi streaming 55" television in the living room for you to watch your favorite Netflix, Hulu or Amazon or connect to your tablet to view the days photos.

A large, digital safe can store cameras, laptops, or other electronics and valuables.

Included are bed linens, hand towels, bath towels, beach towels, washcloths, and free starter supplies including soaps, paper towels, toilet paper, trash bags, and dishwasher soap. Housekeeping is provided at the end of your stay or weekly if you are staying longer than one week.

Gear-hanging and drying pegs are located in the dining room and in the upstairs patio, gear up and walk out front and dive off the front yard from the 2 staircases, the beach or the dock. Dive gear lockers are also available at the onsite dive shops. Additionally Dive benches, carts, and showers are all available at the Sand Dollar. No dive tanks are allowed in the condo.

We have on-site dive shop, that offer full, five star PADI services: Dive Friends. Dive friends offer 8 drive-up locations across the island, with tank exchange, boat dives, equipment rentals and repairs, rinse tanks, storage facilities, courses, and other outdoor activities. We have a partnership with Dive Friends and now offer a 10% discount to all of our guests who book directly with Dive Friends. The voucher must be arranged prior to arrival on Bonaire.

Restaurant, pool, two tennis courts with night lights, small sandy beach, oceanfront lounge chairs, and grill area are available for guests. Ample parking available directly in front of the unit. You'll also find many good restaurants and bars within a 5-10 minute walk.

Newly updated: The upstairs patio/terrace has been painted and newly decorated. New outdoor furniture to be delivered in June 2019 as well as a new sliding glass door off the master suite.

Things to do on Bonaire…

Flamingo spotting

Pretty in pink, these birds of a feather flock together throughout the island. You’re most likely to spot these blushing beauties near the salt flats or at Goto Lake, but you can also get a closer look in the Pekelmeer Flamingo Sanctuary, one of the few breeding places for the American flamingo in the Southern Caribbean.

The sanctuary, which is off-limits to visitors to protect the flamingos, still offers exceptional opportunities to observe these birds from designated viewing areas.

Visitors are left in awe as they watch large flocks majestically wade through the salt flats, creating a picturesque scene that epitomizes the tranquil beauty of Bonaire's wildlife.

Mangroves

The mangroves in Bonaire are a vital ecological treasure, acting as a key player in the island's environmental conservation efforts. These salt-tolerant trees create a unique mangrove forest that serves as a nursery and habitat for a variety of marine species, including juvenile fish, which find shelter among their intricate roots.

Visitors can explore this serene and crucial ecosystem through responsibly guided kayak and snorkeling tours, which emphasize the importance of preservation while allowing an up-close experience of its natural splendor.

Salt flats

The salt flats in Bonaire, visual spectacles in their own right, contribute significantly to the island's unique landscape. These expansive salt pans, appearing as vast, mirror-like surfaces, play a crucial role in Bonaire's economy as a major source of salt production. The process, relying on the natural evaporation of seawater, leaves behind crystalline pyramids of pure salt — a stark and beautiful contrast against the deep blues of the Caribbean Sea.

For visitors, the salt flats are not only a place for stunning photography but also offer a rare glimpse into the island's industrial heritage.

Surrounded by pink-hued water basins, due to the presence of halophilic microorganisms, and overlooked by towering mountains of harvested salt, the flats feature an almost otherworldly environment, where the horizons blend the azure of the sky with the earthen tones of the land.

environment, where the horizons blend the azure of the sky with the earthen tones of the land.

Visitors to Bonaire can visit the salt flats, although access to certain areas may be restricted due to operational and safety reasons within the salt harvesting zones.

For those eager to capture the essence of this stark, yet stunning environment, there are specific vantage points and tours available.
It's advisable to join organized excursions or reach out to local guides who can provide safe access and in-depth knowledge about the history and the workings of the salt flats — an unforgettable experience marrying Bonaire's natural beauty with its industrial vigour.

Cadushy distillery

If you’re wanting to try something you can ONLY do in Bonaire, consider a visit to the Cadushy Distillery.

Here you can sample the worlds only cactus liquor, something you can only find on Bonaire.

The Cadushy Distillery adds another layer to Bonaire's diverse attractions, offering a unique experience that tantalizes the taste buds while showcasing the island's innovative spirit.

Nestled in the tranquil village of Rincon, the distillery is famous for producing the world's only cactus liquor, drawing inspiration from Bonaire’s native Kadushi cactus.

A visit here is not just about tasting this one-of-a-kind spirit but also discovering the meticulous process of transforming cacti into liqueur.

As the engaging staff unravels the fascinating journey from plant to bottle, visitors can indulge in samples of various locally made spirits, understanding the flavor nuances influenced by the island's distinctive climate and culture.

The Cadushy Distillery exemplifies Bonaire’s dedication to sustainable practices and resourcefulness, making it a must-visit destination for both connoisseurs and curious travelers alike.

Downtown Kralendijk

This town is known for its friendly atmosphere, award-winning restaurants, and a plethora of shops. Venture out during the day for family fun or enjoy a night on the town. You'll find Dutch beer at most eateries, as well as hand-crafted Caribbean cocktails, fine wine, authentic Bonairian cuisine, and more.

Kralendijk is the epitome of Caribbean charm blended with historical intrigue, making it an alluring destination for any traveler.

It's a place where one can experience the warmth of local hospitality and engage with Bonaire's rich history and vibrant culture.

Sera L

argu

Sera Largu, with its panoramic vistas, stands as a testament to the island's wondrous ability to blend natural beauty with historical significance.

Perched high upon a hill, visitors are treated to a breathtaking overview of Bonaire, with the turquoise Caribbean Sea stretching out to the horizon, softly kissed by the golden hues of the setting sun.

This vantage point is not only a perfect spot for photographers seeking to capture the picturesque landscape but also for those wishing to reflect on the quiet grandeur of nature. .

F.A.Q.

Can I pay by Zelle?

Yes!

We started taking Zelle payments last month and we found this to be a fast and FREE way to pay!
For those who don’t know what Zelle is… it is very much like a wire transfer (but it is not a wire transfer).

Everyone’s bank is different, though, so you may want to call/go in to your local bank and ask to have the maximum amount available to transfer every day.

Example: Some banks only allow $500/day transfer. Other banks will allow $1200/day.

Always be careful when making payments through Zelle to people that you do not know. There is no protection guarantee provided and you cannot reverse the fee.

The Pros for using Zelle:

  • It is FREE (no processing fees)!

  • It is instantaneous (funds will go directly to Zone Travel- so this is the absolute fastest way to make a payment)

The Cons for using Zelle:

  • Every bank is different when it comes to maximum amount available to be transferred every day. So, this may mean that you need to make multiple payments to Zone Travel, multiple days in a row.

  • It does require an app download onto your phone, and you need to set up your account with your bank information.

Can I pay by check?

Yes!

If you would like to avoid the 4%processing fees, you may pay by check.
It is very important that you pay in advance of the deadlines and allow ample time for delivery.

You can make checks payable to “Zone Travel”

Please mail your checks (allowing 3-5 business days for delivery - PRIOR to deadline) to:
Zone Travel
PO Box 12052
Columbus, OH 43212

Payments received after the deadline could result in cancelation of your reservation or increased fees.
