Add-on Scuba Diving
The Anse Chastanet reef starts just 10 yards beyond the water's edge. The reef's remarkable ecosystem offers an amazing profusion of unusual tropical marine life, in 20 to 140 feet of calm, clear water. Anse Chastanet Reef which is home to more than 150 different species of fish makes for an amazing dive day or night. In the shallow areas be sure to keep your eyes open for peacock flounders, octopus, needle fish and turtles. Or drop down a little deeper over dense coral growth to see puffers, moray eels, parrot fish, lobsters and even sea horses. A unique dive site for all abilities and especially good for macro photography
Indulge yourself in the clearest water and surround yourself with the ocean wildlife with this add-on.
This SCUBA add-on includes 12 boat dives, 2 night dives and extra beach dive. See the itinerary below for more information.
St. Lucia’s Anse Chastanet Resort is in one of the most spectacular scenic settings in the Caribbean, if not the world, can offer; it is also St. Lucia’s only resort situated right in the heart of the marine reserves and therefore offers excellent snorkelling and scuba diving right off shore. Non- motorized watersports are available from the resort watersports centre.. Enjoy the romance and tranquility of this unique hideaway.
Anse Chastanet is the only st. Lucia’s resort which encompasses more than 600 tropical acres and borders not only one but two soft sand beaches. There are so many activities on offer right on site than many guests feel that a return visit is needed to get to see the rest of the island!
Walking, hiking, birdwatching - all of these activities can be enjoyed on the resort property itself in addition to which there are daily scheduled excursions off property and all over the island.
Being located on the Caribbean coastline, the Anse Chastanet and Anse Mamin beaches and bay are perfect for sun bathing and swimming in calm crystal clear waters.

SCUBA ADD-ON : Shore Dives
The shore dive is a required "first" dive for dive guests. It allows divers to feel ensured that all equipment is functioning properly, that their buoyancy skills are adequate for entering the marine reserve and to provide an orientation to the type of diving for which St Lucia is known. This reef is a favorite of most professional underwater photographers and videographers who visit Anse Chastanet.
SCUBA ADD-ON : Boat Dives
The boat dives should also not be missed - dramatic walls beneath the majestic Piton Mountains, Superman's flight, a drift dive in the shadow of the Petit Piton, Coral Gardens and Jalousie under the Gros Piton, Piton Wall, the wreck of the "Lesleen M", Anse La Raye and Anse Cochon. Closer to home for the afternoon boat trips but no less spectacular sites, the diver can explore Fairyland, Turtle Reef, Grand Caille, Trou Diable, the Pinnacles and much more...
SCUBA ADD-ON : Night Dives
Night dives are offered at least twice weekly on Anse Chastanet's Reef, which really "wakes up" at night, with many interesting crustaceans on the move, large basket stars, sleeping parrot fish, octopus and squid, bioluminescence and the "THING".
SCUBA ADD-ON : Explore St. Lucia
Beach, Boat, Night, Wall and Wreck Diving are all available and boat dives are never more than 10-15 minutes away.

F.A.Q.

Check in at your resort will not be until 3pm at the earliest.
If you arrive early, or your room is not yet ready for you to check in when you arrive, you may be able to leave your bags with the front desk and they will keep them securely held behind the desk while explore the property, eat, relax at the beach or get in a snorkel or SCUBA dive until your room is ready.
IS BREAKFAST INCLUDED?
Yes!
Breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner are included in this package
DO I HAVE TO BE CERTIFIED TO GO SCUBA DIVING?
Yes, an Open Water Certification is required to go SCUBA diving.
If you haven’t gotten certified yet, you don’t know what you’re missing!
You can do your classroom work before your trip and then do your checkout dives on vacation!
NOT CERTIFIED YET?
YOU'VE GOT TIME!
Our partners at Aquatic Adventures of Ohio have (indoor) classes going year-round! You can complete the classroom portion of your SCUBA diving certification and then do your checkout dives on vacation!
(and if you aren’t based in Ohio, no worries! You can still do your classroom training close to home and complete the checkout dives on vacation with us!)
CAN I GO DIVING JUST A FEW TIMES? OR DO I HAVE TO DIVE EVERY DAY?
The first rule of diving (well, one of the first rules) is to call a dive if you aren’t comfortable. This means that if you have signed up to go diving one day and you don’t feel comfortable, please don’t get in the water.
That said, this is a personal choice and not one that will result in a refund of money.
Tell me more about the diving at Anse Chastanet
All dives offered by Scuba St Lucia are guided by an instructor or dive master to maximize diver safety and enjoyment. The marine reserve policy is to "look but don't touch". Even empty shells should be left on the sea bed, and great care taken not to touch or kick the corals so hopefully the reef can be preserved for future generations of divers to enjoy.
For Shore Diving – Tanks will be set out on the dive shop patio 45 minutes prior to the dive so divers may set up their gear. Please allow yourself ample time to set up your gear prior to the dive. Dives depart at the schedule times. As a courtesy to other divers we ask that you are set up and ready to dive at the scheduled hour.
For Boat Diving – Tanks, BCD’s, weights and regulators will be placed on the boat. Ensure you collect your own fins, suits, masks etc to put onto the boat. The crew will assemble equipment, but it is mandatory that you check your own equipment to ensure that it is in working order prior to departure. If you require any assistance, please let us know. Smoking is not permitted on dive boats nor in the dive center area.
Nitrox Divers: - Please be at the dive shop 30min prior departure. To give you enough time to check your tanks and sign the appropriate paperwork.
Night Diving –. Please sign up early at the Scuba St. Lucia front desk, if you are interested in doing a night dive. Please note that there is a limited supply of dive lights for rental, so please bring your own with you if possible. Also, a tank marker will be required to be worn by all night divers. These may be rented at the dive center for US$5 or you may bring your own with you as well. All night dives are done from the shore in the Anse Chastanet Marine Reserve.
Signing Up – There is no need to sign up for dives as your group schedule has been pre-arranged for your convenience. However, we do request if you are planning to skip a dive outing that you let someone in the group know so that the boat does not wait for you. In addition, we would like to get a count for night divers in the afternoon of the night dive so that we may prepare tanks, lights and tank markers as necessary. Thank you for your cooperation.
Equipment – Tanks, weight belts and weights are included in the cost of dives. BCD’s, regulators, wetsuits, lights and tank markers may be rented and/or purchased.
Locker Room – Lockers and hanging space are provided for your convenience. Locks and keys are available at our retail center desk. If you bring the locker key to equipment rental and tell them the number of your locker, your key will be held for you.
In the interest of protecting our beautiful coral reefs, the Soufriere Marine Management Authority has been established (SMMA). Divers are required to pay a fee of US$5 per day or US$15 per year to dive within the SMMA. Please note the SMMA has a no knife, no glove policy. Please do not touch any coral or marine life. Control your buoyancy carefully so that fins or gauges do not touch the reef. If you encounter any fish pots (traps) while diving, please do not interfere with them. Report it so that we may ask the marine rangers to remove them. Thank you for your help in preserving our reefs!
All of your diving is escorted by experienced, knowledgeable dive masters who will show you the best of St. Lucia’s underwater world. Please stay within the dive profile guidelines established for each site. Avoid decompression situations (which would preclude diving for the following 24 hours). Recommended profiles are based on the PADI Dive Tables. If using dive computers, all members of the buddy team should be so equipped (no sharing of dive computers is allowed). You are responsible for your own safe nitrogen levels. We strongly recommend that you do not dive at least 18 -24 hours before flying.
In the interest of the safety of all our divers, we ask that you do not drink any alcoholic beverages until after your last dive of the day. We reserve the right to refuse a dive to anyone who has been consuming alcohol prior to the dive. Please don’t drink and dive.
Can I pay by Zelle?
Yes!
We started taking Zelle payments last month and we found this to be a fast and FREE way to pay!
For those who don’t know what Zelle is… it is very much like a wire transfer (but it is not a wire transfer).
Everyone’s bank is different, though, so you may want to call/go in to your local bank and ask to have the maximum amount available to transfer every day.
Example: Some banks only allow $500/day transfer. Other banks will allow $1200/day.
Always be careful when making payments through Zelle to people that you do not know. There is no protection guarantee provided and you cannot reverse the fee.
The Pros for using Zelle:
It is FREE (no processing fees)!
It is instantaneous (funds will go directly to Zone Travel- so this is the absolute fastest way to make a payment)
The Cons for using Zelle:
Every bank is different when it comes to maximum amount available to be transferred every day. So, this may mean that you need to make multiple payments to Zone Travel, multiple days in a row.
It does require an app download onto your phone, and you need to set up your account with your bank information.
Can I pay by check?
Yes!
If you would like to avoid the 4%processing fees, you may pay by check.
It is very important that you pay in advance of the deadlines and allow ample time for delivery.
You can make checks payable to “Zone Travel”
Please mail your checks (allowing 3-5 business days for delivery - PRIOR to deadline) to:
Zone Travel
PO Box 12052
Columbus, OH 43212
Payments received after the deadline could result in cancelation of your reservation or increased fees.
